Proposed Projects
The District is proposing the following projects in the May 8, 2010 Bond Election:
1. Additions and Renovations to East Elementary School
2. New Elementary School
3. Additions and Renovations to South Elementary School to create a new Junior High Campus
4. Additions and Renovations to Breckenridge High School and the existing Junior High School
Additions and Renovations to East Elementary School
Grades Pre-K - Kindergarten
Renovate the 1959 building to meet TEA standards, building code and handicap accessibility requirements
Renovate corridors, classrooms, restrooms, administration and cafeteria
Secure the front entrance to the school
Construct a new activity center and exterior hard court play surface
Add a new bus drive
Add new staff and visitor parking
Add security fence around campus perimeter
Construct a new canopy at parent drop-off/pick-up for children loading/unloading
Patch, repair and paint building exterior
Add new fire sprinkler system
Replace roof
Replace exterior windows

Will replace North Elementary School
Located on Highway 183, immediately north of North Elementary School on 30 acres
Core capacity for 650 students
Separate parent and bus traffic

Additions and Renovations to South Elementary School to create a new Junior High Campus
Grades 6 - 8
Renovate the 1959 building to meet TEA standards, building code and handicap accessibility requirements
Renovate corridors, classrooms, computer labs, administration, current fine arts area and restrooms
Secure the front entrance to the school
Construct a new addition with a new cafeteria/kitchen, library, band hall, choir room, classrooms, computer labs, gymnasium and locker rooms
Relocate and renovate Life Skills classroom
Patch, repair and paint building exterior
Add new fire sprinkler system
Upgrade roof
Replace exterior windows
New front walkway canopy
Add/replace acoustical panels, replace sound system and repair/replace ceilings and paint in gymnasium
Replace kitchen equipment
Add new band equipment
Add new parking and repair existing asphalt drives
Address site drainage
Add security fence around campus perimeter

Additions and Renovations to Breckenridge High School and the existing Junior High School
Grades 9 - 12
Renovate the original high school and junior high school buildings to meet TEA standards, building code and handicap accessibility requirements
Renovate corridors, restrooms, classrooms, computer labs, administration, science labs, Art, Career Tech classrooms and Life Skills
Renovate façade and secure the front entrance to the school
Construct a new addition with a library, computer labs, band hall, choir hall, cafeteria/kitchen and student commons
Construct a new Career & Technology addition with vocational shops and classrooms
Add/replace acoustical panels, replace sound system and repair/replace ceilings and paint in gymnasium and renovate locker rooms
Replace kitchen equipment
Add new band equipment
Construct new concessions and restroom facility at south end of stadium (existing will be demolished to add more parking)
Patch, repair and paint building exterior
Add new fire sprinkler system
Upgrade roof
Replace windows
Construct new on-site parking for staff, students and visitors
Add security fence around campus perimeter
Add new covered walkways
Address site drainage
